At the Latin America and Caribbean Conference on 28 May at the Federal Foreign Office, important issues should be clarified: which challenges are particularly pressing? What can Germany, Latin America and the Caribbean achieve together?

Our managing director Lizi Alexander-Christiansen was also present - both as a participant in the conference and as a founding member of "Unidas".

At the conference, the new women's network "Unidas" was officially founded. It is under the patronage of Foreign Minister Maas and brings together people from Latin America, the Caribbean and Germany who are committed to equal opportunities for women and men. Because: Women's rights are human rights.

Fair representation for women, economic participation based on equality and combating sexualised violence remain the key topics in the region. The founding of UNIDAS coincides with German engagement in the United Nations Security Council for “Women, Peace and Security”.
