Chriwa's final product is a well water treatment plant for the production of various baby food products. The plant consists of a pre-treatment - mechanical filtration via bag filters, a UV disinfection, fine microfiltration 5 µm and 1 µm and a membrane plant. A small part of the treated water goes for technical purposes and the main power (65 m³/h goes directly into production).
Between 2016 and 2018, CUSS designed, built and commissioned a full-scale biological treatment plant. This treats the wastewater from food production to receiving water quality with a hydraulic plant capacity of 100 m³/d.
Due to the high amount of suspended solids and fats contained in the water and the required biological treatment capacity, a concept consisting of mechanical pre-treatment, dissolved air flotation, wastewater neutralisation, membrane bioreactor and clear water tank was chosen. The excess sludge produced is collected in an aerobic sludge tank and then removed from the plant.
