Our CEO Lizi Alexander-Christiansen took part in the exciting discussion on "The role of the private sector for sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean".
Other high-ranking representatives of the German private sector were also present. The discussions focused on the enormous potential in Latin America and the Caribbean for environmentally friendly energy and food production, as well as close multilateral cooperation with the private sector.
The importance of good cooperation in this region for a socio-ecological transformation was made clear by the President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn, and the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Niels Annen, at this evening reception.
The BMZ and the IDB want to increase their support for the private sector. The areas of green energy, lithium and sustainable food production in particular offer great opportunities in this regard.
