Expansion of an existing wastewater treatment plant with an aerobic post-treatment
A local beverage manufacturer in the capital of Gabon, Libreville has an anaerobic wastewater treatment plant that has been in operation for over 10 years which was extended by an aerobic stage.
NUMBERS & FACTS:
- Location: Libreville, Gabon
- Hydraulic plant capacity: 2.500 m³/d
- Years of construction: 2023/2024
CONCEPTUAL FORMULATION
This project involves the implementation of an aerobic aftertreatment system that significantly optimizes the cleaning process and ensures compliance with the applicable limits.
A key feature of this expansion is the use of existing tanks, which has enabled us to significantly reduce costs. We have been able to achieve both financial and environmental benefits through the intelligent integration of these existing resources.
In addition, we are relying on the latest technologies to ensure that wastewater treatment is both effective and efficient. The combination of anaerobic and aerobic treatment not only ensures a high level of purification, but also helps to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
Other intelligent optimizations, such as reliable sludge treatment, air treatment to reduce odors, and technology that regulates energy consumption and automatically responds to incoming substances in the wastewater, have been developed in close cooperation with the local customer.
The exhaust air treatment was an important measure as the brewery is in a densely populated area and therefore had increased requirements for odor-neutral operation.
Overall, this project represents a significant step towards sustainability and helps the brewery achieve its environmental goals. We are proud to contribute to the protection of the environment and increase the efficiency of wastewater treatment with this expansion.
The installation was supervised by an experienced supervisor and carried out with local mechanics provided by the client. This is a guarantee of high quality at a competitive price.
