Beverage industry
In the production of beverages, and in particular soft drinks, syrup, flavourings and concentrates are mixed together with treated water and filled into the containers provided for this purpose in the filling plant. Rinsing and cleaning water in the production plant as well as in the water treatment plant are continuously produced and have to be cleaned according to the legal or company-internal requirements.
A high concentration of easily biodegradable organic matter in combination with low concentrations of suspended substances as well as fats and oils ensures that a combination of mechanical pre-cleaning and aerobic biological treatment has become an established process.
In the brewing industry, due to a higher organic load, an anaerobic process in the form of CSTR, UASB or EGSB reactors with prior separation of suspended substances by lamella clarifiers is often used upstream of the aerobic stage to obtain biogas.
As early as 1995, CUSS GmbH developed and built the first fully biological wastewater treatment plant for the beverage industry. Since then, we have been constantly improving and expanding our knowledge and product portfolio for our numerous, renowned customers in the beverage industry (soft drink, fruit juice, tea industry, breweries).
For more than 30 years, CUSS has gained an excellent reputation and implemented a wide range of successful projects, mainly for wastewater in the brewery and soft drink industry. Here is an excerpt of our projects:
