Conceptual Formulation:
An existing industrial wastewater treatment plant for the potato processing industry near Wroclaw, Poland, had to be renovated and expanded to meet future challenges.
The existing wastewater treatment plant has been improved by CUSS with the following actions, among others:
- Audit of the existing wastewater treatment plant including extensive recommendations for expansion.
- Installation of a new aeration system for the aeration tank (efficient blowers and membrane tube diffusers).
- Implementation of an emergency tank to stabilize the operation of the plant
- Installation of a TSS measurement in the inlet to detect high loads in good time and to be able to take automated measures.
- Installation of a cleaning station for the existing heat exchanger
- Installation of a new biogas flare
All the above measures were carried out while the treatment plant was in operation, so production did not have to be stopped.
WASTEWATER CONSTITUENTS:
- High levels of suspended solids and grease
- High organic load
- High nitrogen loads
PROCESS STEPS:
- Mechanical pretreatment (sieving and flotation)
- Full biological treatment (anaerobic and aerobic)
- Dosing station
- Biogas production
- Sludge treatment
