Flocculation

Finely suspended substances and colloidally dissolved impurities can be removed from the water with the help of flocculation. After intensive analysis of your raw water parameters, we determine the flocculation additives required for your process.

Flocculants are metallic salts which, due to their electrostatic charge, are able to bind substances to themselves and can thus be removed from the water in a subsequent filtration stage.

Binding and filtering substances such as viruses or other organic substances

Among other things, this can remove the following substances from the water:

- Fine particles

- humic acids

- organic substances

- microorganisms

- viruses

- Colloidally dissolved substances (e.g. clays, silicates, discolourations, etc...)

Flocculants can be differentiated into: Neutral flocculants, negatively charged flocculants, positively charged flocculants, oxidising flocculants.
