Sedimentation

Sedimentation is the deposition of solids in the lower part of the containers according to gravity.

Example: lamella separator

In a Chriwa lamella separator, sedimentable substances, such as previously flocculated substances, can be removed from the water. For this purpose, the raw water flows through a basin into which diagonally arranged lamella packets are inserted. Water flows under and through the packets, causing the substances to settle on the lamellae themselves and flow in the form of sludge into a collection tank. It can be easily emptied for cleaning via valves at the bottom of the separator.
