Food industry
In the food industry, as in the beverage industry, strict regulations monitor the purity and safety of food for human consumption.
Depending on the water quality available at the start of the production process, various processes are used to significantly increase product quality. For example, excellent, consistent water quality and compliance with product water standards are important to ensure that the end product always has the same flavour. Depending on the type of raw water, the water chemistry conditions and the product requirements, different water treatment technologies are used.
The right process for the desired food product
Flavour and odour are also changed by the product water used. The selection and design of the treatment processes is therefore all the more important. Processes such as activated carbon filtration can influence many properties at once. It can remove organic compounds and chlorine, which can occur in tap water depending on the country. Downstream processes with membranes or resins can be damaged by chlorine that is not removed prematurely.
Dosing and disinfection also entail risks and the reactivity with the container material such as plastic or glass must also be taken into account.
Process water
Industrial processes depend on a smooth and uninterrupted water supply.
