Softdrink production in Zambia
In 2021, Chriwa Wasseraufbereitungstechnik GmbH planned, manufactured, delivered, installed and commissioned a water treatment system for a plant in Zambia for a renowned international soft drinks producer.
Apart from the building technology and concrete work, all services were carried out by Chriwa or by local or international partner companies commissioned by Chriwa.

The plant technology essentially consists of the following components: Stacking of well water in two stacking tanks, each with a volume of 800 m³.

Project description:
A high proportion of silt and clay in the well water could only be insufficiently removed by the pre-treatment of an existing water treatment plant. This led to high consumption of wound filter cartridges and reduced service life of reverse osmosis membranes.
With a combined inline flocculation and ultrafiltration technology, it was possible to install a cost-effective and reliable removal system for these silts and clays. The downstream reverse osmosis technology and the remineralisation dosing station can be used to produce still water of the desired mineralisation.
A newly developed ozonisation system guarantees a germ-free product with a high degree of accuracy and low fluctuation range of the adjustable ozone concentration, even with fluctuating filling quantities of the filling lines.
